Mode Of Operation
The Allmet mixed flow continuous drier works using a simple but proven
method. The grain enters the drier at the top and fills the central column
Figure 1 (A).
Heat is provided by the furnace Figure 1 (B) which can be diesel, kerosene or
gas fired, and is drawn through the grain by the fan or fans
Figure 1 (C).
The hot air passes through the grain via a series of lateral ducts within the
central column Figure 1 (A) ensuring that the grain is dried evenly and at the same rate as shown
below:

Discharge Process
The dry grain is continuously discharged through-out the drying
process. This is controlled by a series of rollers in the discharge section
Figure 1 (D) which in
turn are controlled by a variable speed gearbox. This process is shown in the diagram below which
also shows the quick release trays around the rollers. These are in place to clean the drier -
drop the trays after drying and the whole central column
Figure 1 (A) is clean and ready for a different
crop or variety - ideal for the seed grower.
The Burner
To give maximum efficiency combined with maximum controllability, Allmet use
the most modern three stage package burners. The three stages ensure that low temperatures for
Oil Seed Rape and high temperatures for feed Wheat and Barley can be attained without having to
change nozzles.
